Fred Oswald is a Professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences, Herbert S. Autrey Chair of Social Sciences at Rice University, with his PhD in industrial-organizational psychology from the University of Minnesota. His current research investigates the nature and use of AI and machine learning within employment testing and talent management settings. He is the incoming Editor of Psychological Methods, and is outgoing Associate Editor at the Journal of Applied Psychology. He also currently serves as Chair of the National Academies Board on Human-Systems Integration (BOHSI) and Member of the National Artificial Intelligence Advisory Committee (NAIAC, 2022), which advises the President and Secretary of Commerce. Fred is a fellow and past president of the American Psychological Association’s (APA) Division 14 (Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, SIOP), as well as a fellow of APA Division 5 (Quantitative and Qualitative Methods) and Division 8 (Society for Personality and Social Psychology).
