Welcome to the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Inc. (SIOP)!

We are a Division within the American Psychological Association that is also an organizational affiliate of the Association for Psychological Science. The Society’s mission is to enhance human well-being and performance in organizational and work settings by promoting the science, practice, and teaching of industrial-organizational (I-O) psychology.  Industrial-organizational psychology helps develop strategies that build better organizations. An I-O psychologist can help you with staffing, workforce development, and workplace climate issues.

We hold an annual conference in the spring as well as a fall consortium.  We currently produce a quarterly news publication for our members, TIP: The Industrial-Organizational Psychologist, and a scholarly journal, Industrial and Organizational Psychology:  Perspectives on Science and Practice.  Our over 7,000 professional and student members work in academia, the military, consulting, and the business world.
